I object to paying the same price for Substack as Apple phone users and getting less for my money. That's been true for months, and apparently it still isn't fixed. When do we get chat? (I realize this is not Richard's fault, but I wanted to read the chat, too.)

Hi! Bringing chat to Android is our top priority. We're aiming for about 1 month. Thanks for your patience—we're doing our best.

Richard, ever thought about chatting with Curtis Yarvin sometime? I was just listening to his interview with Brian Chau and realized the two of you could have an engaging conversation.

Yeah a Hanania-Yarvin conversation would be super interesting. Where would they disagree?

Hanania thinks that many roots of American decay and “wokeness” stem from civil rights law in the mid-1900s and could be defeated by striking those down, while Yarvin would say that’s about 1% of the reform needed. Bad laws aren’t responsible for the state of society, they’re merely downstream of more powerful social forces, so fighting to change individual laws isn’t worth our time. Hope I’m not being unfair to Richard there.

I think Hanania is definitely aware of “personnel is policy” but the big difference between him and Yarvin would be about how far state power should go, what ought to be done concerning the non-governmental components of the Cathedral aside from funding shifts
